A New Era for Energy Communities

A key aspect of ECA's success is its ability to bring together local governments from around the country and to provide them with a forum for sharing resources, experiences and expertise. ECA has expanded this forum to include both the public and private sector in order to shape the future of energy communities.

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES

REGULAR Membership is open to city and county governments that encompass or are adjacent to DOE installations or are impacted by DOE operations. Each Regular members has a seat on the ECA Board of Directors.

AFFILIATE Membership is open to other parties that have a stake in DOE facilities and are interested in membership privileges. Examples of Affiliate members include chambers of commerce, economic development organizations, port authorities, worker organizations, community interest groups and councils of government.

SUPPORTING Membership is open to corporations, governmental entities, organizations and individuals that have a stake in DOE facilities and are interested in membership privileges. Supporting member categories include:

  • Corporate
  • Small Business
  • NonProfit or Governmental
  • Individual

To be considered for Supporting Membership, an organization or individual shall support the following objectives:

  • Promote open lines of communication between local governments, the private sector and the public, in order to develop constructive and creative solutoins to the issues facing energy communities.
  • Maintain high standards of decorum in all professional relationships, thereby upholding the honor and integrity of ECA.
  • Support community interests in order to successfully address the economic development, environmental and regulatory needs of local governments.
  • Encourage increased consultation between Federal agencies and local governments.
  • Provide accurate and current information to local governments on issues that affect their communities.
  • Maintain equality of opportunity for all persons and prohibit discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, political affiliation, physical handicaps, age, or marital status.

HONORARY Membership is open for individuals who have demonstrated commitment to the objectives of ECA. This membership category is non-voting.
